The Banque pour le Commerce et l'Industrie Mauritania was founded in 1999 in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, a country considered by many as the link between the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan Africa. Over the years since its creation, BCI became a leader in the industry and managed to adapt and evolve to go from a national bank to a continental one.

This strategy is the result of a long-term vision based on the desire to build a strong pan African banking network, ready to play a leading role in the economy of the countries it represents. This vision came to fruition in 2007 with the opening of the first branch of the BCI group in Mali, followed by a new bank in Guinea in 2012.

The Group’s international expansion continued in March 2015 with the opening of BCI Senegal. The future of the BCI group lies in the strengthening of its network in the African continent.

Our goal is to take a leadership position in the development of the banking and financial systems of every country BCI is established in, by leaning on the social and economic realities our commercial offers are based on.
